Maria Quinones, LISW
Licensed Therapist & Clinical Social Worker
Bio
Would you benefit from creating more harmony in your relationships, navigating old wounds, grieving losses, healing unhealthy patterns, and establishing new pathways? I honor the courage it takes to commit to therapy and believe there is truly no time better than the present to reach out!
After completing my MSW at New York University, I built my career in the California Bay Area in a variety of clinical settings. Since 2011 I have worked in private practice offering clients Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and mindfulness practices, and have seen how transformational good therapy can be. I have also worked in a college environment as a counselor to students going through difficult transitions and supported them in their growth and coping skills. Prior to these settings, I worked at the Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital through Stanford University as a medical social worker. I have experience with providing psychosocial counseling to children and families facing complex and challenging situations.
Through my career I have seen that life circumstances and transitions have the power to bring us to our knees and to instill feelings of disorientation and angst. Many times, our past experiences pose obstacles we feel unequipped to overcome on our own. Whatever burdens you are carrying or pain you are trying to manage, I want you to know that relief is available when you engage the right help.
I am bilingual and bicultural, and love working with clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Over the past 30 years I have had the privilege of accompanying individuals and families of all ages and walks of life with my engaging and compassionate approach. It would be my honor to meet you right where you are and to hear your story.
