Abby Blackwell, LISW-CP
Licensed Therapist & Clinical Social Worker
About
I am a Licensed Master's Social Worker who is passionate about working with motivated individuals who are ready to make big changes in their lives. Together, we will uncover the behaviors and feelings that have kept you stuck in your life, your relationships, and at work. My style is friendly, personable, engaged, and very supportive. I know that coming to therapy isn’t always easy, so I’ll help you feel comfortable, safe, and confident about our work together.
Many of my clients are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, physical health challenges, and relationship difficulties. They also struggle with feelings of emptiness, loneliness, anger, and fear. If you are facing these challenges, I will work with you to reduce your emotional distress through empathic, compassionate, and evidence-based therapy. I will teach you effective coping skills and strategies that will help you manage your symptoms beyond our therapy sessions.
I work with adults of all ages who are experiencing a variety of mental health concerns. I also enjoy working with college and graduate students, millennials, and young adults trying to figure out their lives and careers. In addition, I provide addiction counseling to adults with substance use disorders who are in recovery.
During these uncertain times, many of us are adjusting to a variety of significant changes and losses in our lives. These experiences can exacerbate an existing mental health condition or create new ones. If you’re having a hard time coping with COVID-19 and its impact on your life, we will work together to help you not only cope with your circumstances but also strategize on how to rise above and conquer.
