Kayla D. Lien, LMSW

Licensed Clinical Therapist

Hello!

As an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I bring a wealth of professional clinical experience to my practice. Specializing in assisting motivated individuals, I focus on those navigating the complexities of multiple responsibilities, such as managing high-pressure work environments, nurturing relationships, and adapting to life transitions. Whether you're contending with separation, divorce, relocation, or prioritizing self-care, I aim to provide unwavering support through these pivotal moments. I also derive immense satisfaction from helping clients in reshaping their relationship with alcohol or substances, guiding them toward change and personal growth.

For those burdened by past traumatic experiences, feeling overwhelmed, depressed, or anxious, I am dedicated to facilitating healing and empowering effective coping strategies to foster inner peace. With specialized training in CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) and TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy), I extend trauma counseling to adults and adolescents (16+) grappling with distressing life events.

My clientele consists of motivated individuals driven to cultivate confidence and purpose in both personal and professional spheres.

Therapy Style:

My therapeutic approach is anchored in authenticity and genuineness, driven by a profound sense of purpose to accompany individuals on their healing journey. I continuously pursue knowledge and training to serve your needs better. In our sessions, I empower clients to delve into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, harnessing inherent strengths. I prioritize building a therapeutic relationship marked by compassion, honesty, and directness, ensuring you feel fully supported and understood. Beyond our sessions, I offer resources and educational materials to facilitate ongoing growth and development. Drawing from evidence-based practices, I integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, tailoring our approach to your unique circumstances and aspirations.

Professional Experience:

Previously, I held a position at a reputable mental wellness company distinguished for its team of rigorously vetted therapists. During this tenure, I delivered high-quality, evidence-based mental health services to adult individuals challenged with diverse mental health issues.

In 2018, I was honored to be selected for a prestigious Post-Masters Fellowship in Substance Use and Co-Occurring Disorders at the Dallas Department of Veteran Affairs. This immersive experience provided intensive supervision and training as I supported individuals facing substance misuse, trauma, and chronic pain.

My expertise spans a broad spectrum:

Substance Use: I excel in assisting individuals at various stages of recovery, guiding them in reshaping their relationship with substances to align with personal goals, whether pursuing abstinence, reduction, or moderation conducive to a values-driven life.

Trauma: Leveraging evidence-based trauma interventions, I facilitate the processing of unresolved experiences, fostering healing and resilience.

Chronic Pain: Equipped with specialized training, I provide compassionate support to patients navigating chronic pain and medical-related issues, empowering them to confront challenges with resilience and self-compassion.

Mood Symptoms and Life Events: Employing an array of evidence-based interventions, I offer support to individuals contending with stress, anxiety, and depression stemming from diverse life events.
